The Green Key Audit consists of a broad matrix of questions related to the following nine areas of sustainable hotel operations:

What We Do

  • Donate leftovers to Second Harvest, a local service organization
  • Use Compact Fluorescent and LED lighting (80% of hotel)
  • Donate gently used linens to our Hotel Charity
  • Use of timers and dimmers to reduce electricity
  • Extensive composting and recycling
  • Aeration where possible to reduce water consumption
  • Rooftop garden for herbs keeps us local
  • Paperless meetings, confirmations, for example “e-BEOs”
  • Paperless airline check-in in lobby

What We Do

  • Organic Menu, when possible Local
  • Plastic Free and Non-Disposable Containers
  • Recycling Bins in each Room, shredder upon request
  • Selection of naturally flavoured spa waters, no plastic
  • Biodegradable take-out containers, if needed
  • Recycled meeting pads and compost friendly pens
